Internationally recognized ceramic sculptor, Janus, will feature as a guest artist on the 2015 Dundas Studio Tour. Many may know Janus from her extensive teaching experience as a faculty member at both the Dundas Valley School of Art, and the Burlington Arts Centre, and others perhaps through her public art installations and gallery exhibitions in Canada and the United States.
A graduate of Fine Arts and Art History from McMaster University, Janus has participated in both national and International solo/group exhibitions and her work can be found in private and public collections in Canada, the United States, Israel, Ireland, Germany and Peru.
To commemorate 911 Janus was honoured to be selected to create an installation entitled “Marrow Fragments”. Today, her original installation has transformed into an ongoing project that has been distributed throughout fire stations and synagogues alike in the United States and continues to be exhibited.
On Saturday, October 3, And Sunday, October 4, you can meet Janus on the Dundas Studio Tour. She will be showing at the studio of painter Lois Shaw, Studio 3 on the Dundas Studio Tour map. Also showing at Studio 3 are goldsmith Heidi Schnabel, Heidi Flint, Bath and Body Care, and clothing designer, Jannis Ruck.
