Summer is here and so is the fourth edition of the Studio Guide Dundas & Area.
The Guide for 2010-2011 is a full-colour, thirty-two page all-year guide showcasing artists and craftspeople in and around the greater Dundas area.
The Studio Guide Dundas & Area features fifteen artist studio locations with two pages of accompanying maps, and a selection of artists whose work is available through the Carnegie Gallery. The biannual Guide also contains a wide variety of consumer attractions including dining and shopping, tours, activities, galleries, museums, and services.
Since 2006 some 65,000 copies of the awarding winning Studio Guide Dundas & Area have been distributed at Tourism Hamilton locations, at tourism sites and arts and crafts festival throughout Ontario, Quebec and New York State, and at some forty-two tourist sites in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). In 2007 the Guide garnered a Tourism Hamilton Award.
Said potter Scott Barnim, the catalyst behind the Studio Guide, “The Guide is entirely self-funded through the payments received by the Carnegie Gallery from the artists and advertisers taking part. The designer was Walter Pick of Headspring Design, and the Co-ordinator was Allyson Wenzowski of Publicity Works.”
Barnim continued, “Whether your destination is one specific artist studio or a day spent visiting the many studios in and around Dundas, the Studio Guide Dundas & Areais an excellent resource to use with its maps and detailed contact information. The goal is to communicate that you are finding real work of value made by the hands of real people you can meet in their studios, and that the Dundas area offers an incredibly rich assortment of visitor experiences with museums, dining, and unique shopping opportunities.”
Copies of the Studio Guide Dundas & Area 2010-11 are available for pick up at the Carnegie Gallery, artist studios and local retailers.
