“Last week local potter Donn Zver was watching the horrific news reports from Port-au-Prince and the desperate need of Haiti’s children and knew he had to help in some way.
Now he’s busy making bowls to be given away with a $20 donation to support the UNICEF Canada Haiti Earthquake Fund.
“I felt I just had to help the humanitarian support effort,” said Zver. “I decided that as an artist I could help by using my work to raise money for the UNICEF Canada Haiti Earthquake Fund.”
UNICEF is leading the coordination of emergency water, sanitation and hygiene, child nutrition, child protection and education efforts of all humanitarian organizations on the ground in Haiti. In addition, for every dollar donated to the UNICEF Canada Haiti Earthquake Fund, the Canadian International Development Agency will contribute a dollar to the relief efforts in Haiti.”
